Course Standards/Objectives: (8th grade Spanish)  8th grade Spanish is the second part of Spanish I. Above all, 8th grade Spanish is a course designed to initiate a lifelong interest in the Spanish language.  Students will be expected to:

  1. *Acquire basic conversational skills
  2. *Comprehend and use basic grammatical concepts
  3. *Learn the geographical placement of Spanish-speaking countries
  4. *Explore the connection between language and culture
  5. *Identify societal applications for the newly aquired language skills

(7th grade Spanish)  7th grade Spanish is the first part of Spanish I.  The course standards/objectives are the same for 7th grade as for 8th grade.

This introductory Spanish course is tied to both country and state standards.  Spanish I is the prerequisite for all other Spanish courses that follow.
